Representatives of Ukraine and Germany signed a protocol on the continuation of scientific and technical cooperation for the next two years. The signing took place within the working session of the bilateral commission on scientific and technical cooperation between Ukraine and Germany, which took place on July 13 in the Adlershof scientific and technical park in Berlin.
"The signing of the joint protocol is part of the normal and systematic work of the bilateral commission on scientific and technical cooperation between our countries. The protocol defines the order of our interaction and specifies the procedures and deadlines for the selection of joint scientific projects financed by the Ukrainian and German governments," explained the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine and co-chairman of the commission for scientific and technical cooperation Maksym Strikha.
In particular, the protocol states that 60 % of the funds provided for the financing of bilateral projects will be directed to support traditional projects, and 40 % - to finance structural changes in the system of scientific research organization. In addition, the protocol provides for the involvement of specialists from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in the evaluation of scientific projects, and it is also determined that the next working meeting of the commission will be held in Kyiv in 2018.
It will be recalled that a delegation of Ukrainian scientists and government officials headed by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Liliya Hrynevych visited Berlin from July 11 to 14. As part of the visit, a conference on Ukrainian-German cooperation in the field of education and science "German-Ukrainian Dialogue: Prospects for Education and Science" and a working meeting of the bilateral commission on scientific and technical cooperation between Germany and Ukraine took place.
