A working meeting of the members of the organizing committee of the International Competition "The Best Teacher of the Ukrainian Language Abroad" took place on December 11 at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The contest, in many countries of the world, began on November 9, 2014.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of preparation for the II stage of the competition, which will last from January 5 to June 1, 2015. The co-chair of the organizing committee, deputy chair of the Ukrainian World Coordination Council Olga Kobets, other members of the organizing committee took part in the discussion.

"The Ministry has provided a regulatory and legal basis for the competition, the purpose of which is to raise the prestige of the Ukrainian language in the world and to identify the best teachers of the Ukrainian language abroad," said Pavlo Polyanskyi.

The participants of the meeting determined the primary organizational steps necessary for the successful start of the II stage of the competition, in particular: prepare an explanatory letter regarding the identification of coordinators in foreign countries who are called to help teachers with the preparation of documents for the competition; and also simplify the conditions for submitting documents for teachers.

During the competitive selection, teachers of the Ukrainian language will send their competitive works from abroad to Ukraine (in particular, videos of their lessons), after which the jury (chairman - Mykhailo Ratushnyi - head of the Ukrainian World Coordination Council) will determine the winners.

Note that there are two nominations for the winners, namely: primary school Ukrainian language teacher and general school Ukrainian language teacher.

The date of awarding the winners is August 24, 2015.
