The Intel Eco Ukraine competition, which determined the second group of finalists of the national stages of the international Intel ISEF (Intel International Science and Engineering Fair) competition, has ended.
At the face-to-face national final "Intel Eco Ukraine 2015", which was traditionally held on the basis of the National Ecological and Naturalistic Center for School Youth (NETC), 154 young scientists presented 142 research papers in 7 categories of knowledge: biology, environmental engineering, human sciences, Earth; the environment; chemical and biological engineering, chemistry.
Among the members of the scientific jury of the All-Ukrainian competition are leading scientists and representatives of education, who have chosen the most relevant and applied works for their presentation on the international scientific arena.
According to the results of the super final, the status of finalists of the Intel ISEF 2015 competition from Ukraine was awarded to:
1. Mykhailo Volodymyrovych Parkulab, project "New fluorescent probes based on 8-hydroxyquinoline". Student of the 11th grade of the Kharkiv Specialized School of the I-III degree No. 17.
2. Valeriya Vyacheslavivna Pirogov, project "Development of new non-opioid analgesic and anxiolytic agents based on 1,4-benzdiazepine derivatives." Student of the 11th grade of Odesa Gymnasium No. 9.
3. Blum Rostyslav Yaroslavovych, project "Fatty acid analysis of seed rye, oil radish and Typhon oil as raw materials for industrial production of biodiesel." Educator of the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth.
In May 2015, at the Intel ISEF International Finals in the American city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the most talented young scientists will compete with the finalists of the Intel ISEF national stages of other countries. And the submitted projects will be evaluated by world-renowned scientists, including Nobel Prize laureates.
