On April 5, 2016, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine hosted a meeting of Deputy Minister Andrii Gevka with the head of the Department of Bilateral and Regional Cooperation with the CIS and Central Asia of the Council of Europe Katya Dolgovaya-Dreyer and Council of Europe experts on corruption prevention Ian Smith and Tom Hamilton.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the issue of cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe in the field of education and science, in particular, the issue of overcoming corruption in the field of higher education.
The parties emphasized the importance of implementing the new Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education" as one of the factors of ensuring academic integrity and combating such phenomena as plagiarism and falsification of scientific research.
