The day before, the second meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was held, which was attended by 52 representatives of civil society institutions - members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The Ministry informed the participants of the meeting about the Regulations on the Public Council, as well as approved the official form of the Public Council at the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine and indicated the results of the meeting of the Board of the Public Council, which took place on September 22, 2014, with the participation of the head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Science and Education Liliya Hrynevych, where the issues of reforming the educational sector and the Committee's cooperation with the Civic Council were discussed.

According to the agenda of the meeting, the Work Plan of the Public Council under the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine for the IV quarter of 2014, the structure of the Public Council and the personal composition of its committees were approved.

Also, issues related to the organization of the work of temporary working groups of the Public Council and the procedure for correspondence of committees and temporary working bodies of the Public Council were discussed.

Due to the threat of the destruction of the education system in connection with the possible limitation of funding of the industry, a decision was made to prepare an open letter to the country's leadership.

The next meeting of the Public Council under the MES is scheduled for October 31, 2014.
