The school as the center of the community is the basis of successful decentralization, and the government will promote the development of supporting schools and help the united territorial communities to develop quality education. This was said by the Minister of Education and Science, Liliya Hrynevych, at the opening of the conference "Ukraine on the path to decentralization of education".
She emphasized that in the educational subvention for 2017, UAH 200 million has been allocated for buses for support schools, UAH 300 million for educational institutions of united territorial communities, and an additional UAH 300 million for the equipment of classrooms for the study of natural sciences in support schools.
"We want to encourage united territorial communities to develop successful education. We need a school built on a partnership between parents, teachers and children. And the main thing is that the school should become the center of the community," Hrynevych added.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Gennady Zubka, the process is difficult, but already now the creation of support schools is gradually becoming an initiative, the source of which is communities.
He emphasized that it is very important for this process to gain strength and communities to really use the opportunities created for them.
