The Minister of Education, Liliya Hrynevych, reported that the Ministry of Education is not satisfied with the methods of teacher certification. She said this on the air of Lutsk channel 12.

According to the minister, during the certification of teachers, as a rule, the director and the commission within the school itself evaluate it.

"That is, this certification is not independent, and it depends a lot on the personal relationship between the school management and the teacher himself," the minister emphasized.

She reminded that this year the Ministry of Education is conducting an experiment on voluntary certification of teachers, the idea of which is to pilot external certification.

“I predict that certification will one day replace this imperfect teacher certification. Certification consists of several parts. The teacher must pass an external test on teaching methods and knowledge of his subject, after that the State Education Quality Service goes to the teacher's place of work and monitors his activities, communicates with his management and colleagues, and the teacher will also prepare his electronic portfolio. That is, the certification is more focused on how the teacher is ready for the New Ukrainian School," said the minister.

She also emphasized that through certification, the Ministry of Education wants to identify those agents of change who have already been imbued with the main values of the New Ukrainian School.

Those teachers who pass the certification will be able to count its results as certification and receive the 20% allowance from the new calendar year.
