Yesterday, a law was passed (reg. No. 2672), which amends the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education" (on improving admissions and placement of state orders).
The purpose of the added changes is to guarantee the availability of higher education, the possibility of obtaining it free of charge, the unification and improvement of certain norms of the Law, which will ensure the elimination of obstacles in the conduct of the admission campaign.
In accordance with the adopted law, it is proposed to expand the list of admission conditions for obtaining a junior bachelor's degree or a bachelor's degree (master's degree in medicine, pharmacy or veterinary fields).
One of the innovations is the creation of an additional "point for special achievements", which will be awarded to the winners of the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads in basic subjects and to the winners of the III stage of the All-Ukrainian competition for the defense of scientific research works by students who are members of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Also, an additional condition for admission to the higher education institution is established in the form of successful completion of the preparatory courses of this higher education institution for natural-mathematical and engineering-technical specialties.
The right to repeat free higher education in Ukraine is available only to those persons who could not fully complete the first one. This information is stated in the law as follows: "Citizens of Ukraine who have not completed their education at the expense of the state or local budget for a certain level of education have the right to obtain higher education again free of charge in state and municipal higher education institutions at the same level of education, subject to reimbursement up to of the state or local budget of funds spent on the payment of specialist training services, in accordance with the procedure established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine".
