Among its priority tasks, the government of Ukraine envisages the implementation of a comprehensive law on education, which should speed up the process of reforming preschool, extracurricular, vocational and secondary education.
The government's program of actions, presented by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, provides for the establishment of new rules for accreditation and licensing and independent assessment of the quality of education. According to Yatsenyuk, it is necessary to determine the quality of education in higher education institutions, which will allow to determine those universities whose level of training "will enable graduates to get a job, and not to enter the labor market."
According to the Head of the Government, starting from 2015, it is necessary to "completely change the state order system for training in higher education institutions": "The labor market and the needs of the Ukrainian economy must be and will be directly tied to the state order, which is financed from the state budget for training relevant specialists".
Radical changes are necessary, as well as to provide in the new law on scientific and scientific and technical activities: "Not quantity, but quality. Maybe we need to finance one development, but this development will be talked about by the whole world and will be recognized by the world. And not to finance salaries and utility services in hundreds of research institutes, which, unfortunately, do not research anything, and mostly spend budget funds."
Speaking about the new cultural policy, Arseniy Yatsenyuk spoke in favor of the adoption of the Ukrainian humanitarian policy strategy, the support of the Ukrainian cultural product, the support of Ukrainian culture, including by patrons. "There is someone to support in Ukraine - Ukrainian cinema, Ukrainian television, Ukrainian book, Ukrainian newspaper. And Ukraine will applaud this, and the world will applaud this. We must first fight for our own, then we will fight for someone else's," the Prime Minister emphasized.
The program of reforms in the education system proposed by the government of Ukraine envisages the active participation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the preparation for the Olympic Games and the revival of national and patriotic education.
