On the EdEra social platform, the Ministry of Education and Science has placed for public discussion the current programs for students of primary grades of general educational institutions with the Ukrainian language of instruction (grades 1-4).
For the first time, the discussion of educational programs is a public and transparent process. The joint project of the Ministry of Education and the EdEra portal was launched with the aim of making educational programs more understandable and closer to the age characteristics of children and modern life, to relieve programs of burdensome information and outdated approaches, as well as to involve dedicated educators and experts in the work on updating the content of education.
Unloading the educational process of the primary school is one of the operational steps carried out by the Ministry of Education in parallel with the creation of the Concept of a new Ukrainian school, which will become the foundation of the reform of the entire secondary education.
After the announcement of the project, the MES received more than 300 applications with motivational letters from those willing to participate in the process of updating curricula and methodological recommendations for primary schools. Working groups for each program have already been formed and their moderators have been determined, who will coordinate the work, summarize the submitted proposals, and organize the further work of the group.
Anyone who has not applied but would like to comment or have constructive suggestions for offloading or improving programs can do so on the EdEda platform - the "Offloading Programs" section has detailed instructions on how to register and how to leave comments.
At the end of July, the updated programs must be reviewed and approved by the Collegium of the Ministry of Education.
Unloading programs is only the first part of the project. On the basis of the updated programs for elementary school, the EdEra platform will create video lessons, master classes and educational materials from practicing teachers, which will help make the learning of the youngest students interesting, motivating and encouraging.
Also, by order of the Minister of Education and Science, Lilia Hrynevych, significant changes will be made to the evaluation criteria and indicative requirements for evaluating the educational achievements of primary school students by September 1, and appropriate methodological recommendations will be provided.
