In the near future, an electronic platform will be created in Ukraine, which should ensure transparent conditions for admission of foreign students to institutions of higher education.
This was discussed during the meeting dedicated to the launch of the Unified Interdepartmental Electronic Platform chaired by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to Shmyhal, the creation of a transparent and clear mechanism for the admission of foreign citizens is an important link in the reform of the higher education system. He also emphasized that foreign students should have equal and transparent admission conditions without any corruption components.
"The creation of an electronic platform for foreign students should modernize the admission system in the direction of accessibility and comfort for both universities and institutes, as well as for applicants. This is a continuation of the course of the Ukrainian government in the field of digitization," the prime minister emphasized.
He also instructed the ministries to speed up the work on the creation of a single electronic platform for foreign students in order to eliminate any manifestations of corruption in this area as soon as possible.
"Entry rules for foreigners that are understandable for all participants in the process are also about creating a positive image of our country. Such a step will contribute to the popularization of higher education in Ukraine," the Prime Minister emphasized.
In addition, the head of the government instructed the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Affairs to develop the implementation of electronic invitations to study, which will contribute to the prevention of abuses in this area.
