In order to improve the quality of higher education, university students should have more opportunities to learn about international experience. The Minister of Education of Ukraine, Liliya Hrynevych, said this during a speech at the World Education Forum in London.
According to her, such programs as ERASMUS+ and HORIZON 2020 are very valuable for Ukraine.
"It is thanks to international mobility that students get the opportunity to gain new practical and academic experience, exchange ideas with peers from other countries and expand their own picture of the world. Without this, the formation of true critical thinking is impossible," Hrynevych emphasized.
The key issues of the meeting of the ministers of education of the European countries were the issues of ensuring the quality of higher education, its compliance with certain standards in various European countries and productive establishment of international relations.
The participants of the discussion agreed that the creation of international research programs is not enough for the internationalization of higher education. It is necessary for national education systems to be open and flexible both for studying students from other countries and for attracting their own students to study abroad.
The World Education Forum brings together ministers of education and their deputies representing more than 80% of the world's population. The purpose of holding The Education World Forum is to discuss further development and changes in the educational policy of the countries of the world.
