As Lilii Hrynevych noted, in order to give every child a chance to successfully develop their talents, Ukraine must reboot its secondary education system.
"We need to ensure that our teachers have status and respect, understand the importance of their role. We need to reboot our teacher training system in order to raise a new Ukrainian teacher who values every student and is open to the most effective forms of education. We need to transform school into an amazing journey into the unknown, where learning is driven by natural curiosity and the child's life skills develop alongside the child's talent and natural abilities. In other words, we need a New Ukrainian school," the minister said.
An important reform tool should be the opening of an educational online platform, where educational materials will be collected not only for teachers and children, but also for every citizen of Ukraine.
The online platform should not only become a resource for interaction and exchange of best practices, but will also ensure equal access to free education for those children who remain in the occupied and annexed territories, as well as students from remote rural areas and students with special needs.
"We are currently looking for partners to co-finance this initiative, and we would like to invite everyone who has the relevant experience and knowledge to cooperate," the minister added.
Summing up, Liliya Hrynevych emphasized that the New Ukrainian School is one of the main political reforms in the future. It should ensure investments in the development of human capital for the innovative growth of the country and the self-realization of each person.
"The school can clip its wings if the system is focused on the average result. A school should offer a variety of opportunities to develop special talents in people, find out what they can be successful in, and prepare them for life in a constantly changing world. The school should also closely monitor global trends and changes, otherwise we risk preparing students for a world that no longer exists," Liliya Hrynevych emphasized.
