The Webometrics Ranking of World's Universities agency published the January ranking of the presence of world universities in the network of web resources. The Webometrics ranking is compiled twice a year and analyzes the indicators of twelve thousand universities from all over the world.

The Webometrics rating determines the content and information indicators of the website of the educational institution, namely: the number of pages of the university's website indexed by search engines, external links to it, the citation rate of the web resource, as well as the number of files uploaded to the site. At the same time, data on site visits and their design are not evaluated in the rating.

The world rating includes 12,000 universities and educational institutions from around the world, including 297 higher educational institutions of Ukraine.

The results of the Webometrics-2015 rating showed that the most visible and active on the Internet among Ukrainian higher education institutions is Kyiv National University named after Shevchenko, NTU "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute", NTUU "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", Kharkiv National University named after Karazina and Sumy State University.

The Donetsk National Medical University named after Gorky, Poltava National Technical University named after Kondratyuk, Kharkiv National University of Urban Economy, Uman State Pedagogical University and Chernivtsi National University named after Fedkovych.
