School graduates who received an international language exam certificate (diploma) in 2017 and 2018 and wish to include it as a result of the state final certification must apply to their educational institution.
In this case, in addition to the certificate, they are assigned a foreign language DPA score of 12 points.
The relevant clarification was provided by the Ministry of Education and Science in a letter to departments (departments) of education and science of regional and Kyiv city state administrations, institutes of postgraduate pedagogical education.
The following language exam certificates are accepted:
Deutches Sprachdiplom (DSD), Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch (ÖSD), Goethe-Zertifikat B1, Goethe-Zertifikat B2 – German language;
DELF/DALF – French;
IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English Language Assessment, Pearson Test of English (PTE) – English language;
DELE is Spanish.
Graduates who studied a foreign language at school at standard or academic level must provide a certificate of level B1 or higher. If the students studied the language at a professional level, they need to submit a certificate of level B2 or higher.
If a graduate with a certificate does not write a statement about his enrollment as a grade for DPA, then such a grade will be issued based on the results of the external examination.
If a graduate wants his certificate to be counted as a DPA, but will receive it after registering for a DPA (ZNO), he has the opportunity to make changes to the registration data (until April 2) by re-registration. If it is not carried out, then the DPA assessment will be issued based on the results of the external examination.
If the student plans to receive a certificate after April 2 (that is, he will no longer be able to re-register) and before the day of the test (June 1 for English, May 29 for Spanish, French, German), he can also write an application for the enrollment of the certificate as assessments for DPA. In the application, it is necessary to indicate that he expects to receive such a certificate, and then the graduate must provide a paper copy of it. In this case, the certificate will also be assigned a foreign language DPA score of 12 points.
It is important to note that international certificates of language exams are not counted as a grade for external examinations. Enrollment is possible only for DPA assessment.
The MES also reminds that the DPA in a foreign language will be conducted as an optional subject.
