On September 3, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities" (Regarding the Clarification of Certain Provisions)".
The law amends the Law of Ukraine "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity" regarding the settlement of some issues in the field of scientific and scientific-technical activity, which were inconsistent, unbalanced or absent in the current law.
In particular, it is about clarifying the definition of the concepts "doctoral student", "young scientist", "scientific council", "scientific mission", clarifying the procedure for electing valid members of the national academies of sciences, certain provisions regarding the implementation of scientific and pedagogical activities by scientists in institutions of higher education, the replacement of vacant positions of scientific workers, payment and stimulation of the work (training) of scientists, etc.
The law shall enter into force on the day following its publication and shall be enforced three months after its entry into force, except for some paragraphs.
