As part of the international seminar "European certification of engineers: passport of an engineer and guarantee of the quality of education", a memorandum on the pilot implementation of European initiatives was signed between Ukrainian and European organizations on joining the European agreement on mutual recognition of engineering education certificates.
Chairman of the Association of Rectors of Higher Technical Educational Institutions of Ukraine, Rector of NTUU "KPI" Mykhailo Zgurovsky, President of the Union of Scientific and Engineering Associations of Ukraine Mykola Kyryukhin, General Secretary of the Federation of European Engineering Associations (FEANI) Dirk and President of the European Network for Accreditation of European Education (ENAEE) Bernard Remo sealed the memorandum with their signatures.
This event became an important step on the path of European integration of Ukrainian technical education.
Starting from October 2014, Ukraine joined the Federation of European Engineering Associations. Accreditation of engineering specialties and certification of professional engineers is implemented in the following areas:
– FEANI INDEX, i.e. a list of engineering programs (specialties) that meet education standards; accredited or officially recognized at the national level; correspond to the European level and are recognized on the territory of the EU;
– Engineering Card ("Passport" or "Engineer's Card"), each owner of which is entered in the pan-European FEANI register located in Brussels;
- EUR ING ("European Engineer") is an honorary title, candidates for which must have a high-quality engineering education, many years of experience in engineering research, analysis and design, as well as adhere to professional ethics.
