The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine plans to adjust the rules for the payment of scholarships, taking into account the identified shortcomings of the system. This was stated by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Liliya Hrynevych, during a meeting with students of the Admiral Makarov National Shipbuilding University.
The minister explained that the formation of the rating is planned to be transferred from the level of specialization to a higher level - the faculty.
"At the faculty level, there is an opportunity to make a fairer rating. At the level of specialization, the groups are very small and unequal in terms of the quality of students' education. Now we have realized this problem and we have to fix it," the minister said.
The university also plans to allow the use of scholarship fund balances for additional student support.
The National Shipbuilding University has the largest number of foreign students in the Mykolaiv region - 800 people. Representatives of foreign students at the meeting raised the issue of making it easier to obtain study visas, in particular, this worried students from China.
"We are already working with bodies directly related to the simplification of the visa regime for students. I understand how complicated the procedures are here, especially when you have to go back to your country and then go here immediately. We are working on this and hope to resolve this issue in the near future," added Liliya Hrynevych.
