The Ministry of Education and the Ukrainian Center for Evaluation of the Quality of Education have developed several options for conducting an external independent evaluation in 2021.

Minister of Education Serhii Shkarlet wrote about this in his Telegram.

According to him, the format of the ZNO will depend on the epidemic situation in Ukraine.

"Registration for participation in the main session of the external independent evaluation will begin as early as February 1. Several options for its implementation have been developed: either in full-format mode, or as a state final certification in the form of an external examination, or as a DPA in educational institutions (at the choice of the student of education). These are options that can be approved taking into account the epidemic situation in Ukraine," the minister said.

He also informed that the feasibility of implementing one of the options will be considered in March at a meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education, Science and Innovation.

In addition, he emphasized that the external examination will remain the main tool for admission to higher education institutions.

"I emphasize once again: ZNO is not going anywhere. And all manipulations on this topic are a thankless business. External independent assessment is the main tool for high-quality and unbiased admission to higher education institutions of Ukraine," Serhiy Shkarlet wrote.
