The day before, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted resolutions determining the procedure for paying scholarships to students of Ukrainian universities in 2017. The Ministry of Education and Science, with the participation of the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Finance, is tasked with finalizing the proposals of the student body regarding the mechanism of payment of academic scholarships.
The size of the minimum ordinary (ordinary) academic scholarship is:
- for students of vocational and technical educational institutions - 415 hryvnias per month;
- for students of higher education institutions of the I-II level of accreditation who study at the educational qualification level "junior specialist" or "bachelor", except for those who study specialties (specializations), for which academic scholarships are established in an increased amount - 830 hryvnias per month ;
- for students of higher education institutions of the I-II level of accreditation who are studying at the educational qualification level "junior specialist" or "bachelor" in specialties (specializations), for which academic scholarships are established in an increased amount - 1,056 hryvnias per month;
- for students of universities of III-IV level of accreditation, scientific institutions studying at the educational qualification level "bachelor", "specialist" or "master", except for those studying specialties (specializations) for which academic scholarships are established in the increased amount - 1100 hryvnias per month;
- for students of universities of III-IV level of accreditation, scientific institutions studying at the educational qualification level "bachelor", "specialist" or "master", except for those studying specialties (specializations) for which academic scholarships are established in the increased in the amount of 1,400 hryvnias per month.
The size of the social scholarship for vocational and technical students, students of higher educational institutions, scientific institutions from among orphans and children deprived of parental care, as well as students, students who during the period of study between the ages of 18 and 23 were left without parents:
- for students of vocational and technical educational institutions - 1,000 hryvnias per month;
- for students of higher educational institutions, scientific institutions - 2000 hryvnias per month.
The size of the social stipend for persons who have the right to be awarded social stipends on the basis of legal acts establishing state benefits and guarantees for certain categories of citizens (except for those specified in clause 2 of these amounts):
- for students of vocational and technical educational institutions - 377 hryvnias per month;
- for students of higher educational institutions of the I-II level of accreditation who study at the educational qualification level "junior specialist" or "bachelor" - 750 hryvnias per month;
- for students of higher educational institutions of the III-IV level of accreditation, scientific institutions studying at the educational qualification level "bachelor", "specialist" or "master" - 1,000 hryvnias per month.
