Currently, 8,671 schools in Ukraine are working remotely, and another 56 schools are on vacation.
This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet, commenting on the progress of the vaccination campaign among educators and the epidemic situation in the regions.
According to him, the transition to distance education is due to the deterioration of the epidemic situation in the regions.
The minister also noted that only 3% educators have not yet joined the All-Ukrainian vaccination campaign.
A little more than 1% school workers have contraindications to vaccination.
"I remind you once again that vaccination remains the only and most effective way to reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19 and to protect yourself from the severe course of the coronavirus," Skarlet emphasized.
As you know, since the beginning of the year, the number of hospitalized children has tripled. Currently, almost two and a half thousand children with both confirmed COVID-19 and suspected coronavirus are receiving inpatient treatment.
