The Ministry of Education is implementing the "New Ukrainian School" reform, which is designed to create a school where it will be a pleasure to study.
This was emphasized by Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet during a meeting with Lotta Sylvander, head of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) office in Ukraine.
According to him, the New Ukrainian School will give students not only knowledge, but also the ability to apply it in everyday life.
The purpose of the meeting between the Minister of Education and the head of the UNICEF office in Ukraine was to continue cooperation on the implementation of educational reforms, in particular the "New Ukrainian School", inclusive education, distance learning, education in the conditions of the pandemic and the conflict in the East of Ukraine.
In addition, Serhii Shkarlet thanked the United Nations Children's Fund for the support received by the Ukrainian education system and the Ministry of Education.
"We greatly appreciate the help of the United Nations Children's Fund at all levels of education - in preschool education, inclusive education, school education, in creating safe conditions for education. I consider this meeting as an opportunity to present the vision of systemic transformations in the field of education, to inform about further plans for the implementation of key educational reforms, and to confirm the relevant commitments of the government and the ministry's team," said the Minister of Education.
In addition, he assured the head of the UNICEF representative office that all reforms and systemic transformations in the educational sphere declared by the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry are inevitable.
