The British company QS published the annual ranking of the best student cities in the world in 2015. The total integral sum of points, which determined the final place in the ranking, depended on the following indicators: the prestige of the city's higher education institutions, popularity among students, attractiveness, popularity among employers, affordability of education.
The first place in the rating was taken by Paris, which scored 412 points. London took second place with 392 points, Sydney took third place with 388 points. They are followed by Montreal, Toronto and Seoul in the top ten.
This time, the raters changed last year's methodology. The main change concerns the "Attractiveness" criterion, which was called "Quality of life" last year. Now a city's assessment depends not only on quality of life and amenities, but also on safety, pollution and corruption, as well as on the assessment of the city in terms of the level of globalization and the concentration of financial, commercial and cultural life in it.
