Yesterday, January 15, a briefing was held by the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Inna Sovsun, at which the financing of the education sector in 2015 was discussed.

Inna Sovsun noted that there should be no serious delays in the payment of salaries to teachers, and the financing of higher education has not undergone significant changes. Also, it was reported that more funds were allocated for state contracts compared to last year.

It should be noted that the financing of schools is transferred to the state level, which in turn provides for the receipt of funds to regions and districts through the Ministry of Education and Culture, and they will be distributed there according to a certain formula.

Also, the authorized person of the Ministry of Education and Culture was informed about the mechanism for calculating the cost of the textbook. First of all, its cost should be calculated depending on the period of use, because textbooks will be used for more than one year.
