Increasing the requirements for the quality of education provision, in the deep conviction of the Minister of Education and Science, will contribute to the reduction of the number of higher educational institutions. This opinion was expressed by Serhii Kvit during a meeting with students and teachers of the East Ukrainian National University named after Dalya, who was relocated to Severodonetsk.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Serhiy Kvit, speaking to students and teaching staff, commented on the key aspects of the new law "On Higher Education", which will contribute to the effective reform of the industry. First of all, the decrease in the number of universities will occur due to the increase in requirements for the quality of education. The Minister is confident that the introduction of university autonomy will contribute to the active development of student self-government, which is the most important component of the activity of each university.
During the meeting, Serhiy Kvit also disclosed information about the changes that will take place in the higher education system from September 1. According to the minister, the classroom workload for teachers will be reduced from 900 to 600 hours, while students will be able to pay more attention to independent work.
