This year, cryptographic protection of entrants' electronic accounts will ensure maximum security for personal data. However, creating secure channels may slow down the system a bit when registering an account or logging in for the first time from a new device.
This was discussed during the press conference "Introduction 2018", held on June 25, 2018, at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Thus, a comprehensive information protection system has been created in the Unified State Electronic Database on Education (UEDEBO), which includes the applicant's office. It is confirmed by relevant certificates.
"I want to warn everyone about a very important thing. Dear participants of the admissions campaign and members of the admissions commissions, this year we have fully certified the protection system of EDEBO. This is necessary for reliable storage of personal data and is also required by law. As a result, we have protected channels of information between the device from which the entrant enters and EDEBO. But the first logins through these channels can be slow. And this is not because there are insufficient server capacities, but it is for the security of information systems," said the Minister of Education and Science Liliya Hrynevych.
She also appealed to everyone to be patient and assured: certain slowdowns of the system are possible only at the first stage, and then it will work much more dynamically.
"During the registration of the electronic cabinet or the first access to it from a new device - computer, tablet, smartphone - special software will be automatically installed in the entrant's web browser. It will prevent any modification, deletion by third parties of the data entered by the entrant in the cabinet, on the way from the device to the cabinet itself. The installation process is invisible to the user, but it can cause a certain slowdown," explained Oksana Belyk, director of SE Inforesurs.
