On February 3, 2015, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Andrii Gevko, General Director of Microsoft Ukraine, Nadiya Vasilieva, took part in a press conference on the occasion of the signing of a framework agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the company "Microsoft Ukraine" on promoting the reform of higher education and creating conditions for the legal use of software in the administrative and educational processes of universities.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Andriy Gevko said that this agreement provides for the provision of a 50% discount to universities for paid licensed software products. According to him, various IT services will allow universities to implement distance education, use cloud technologies in their work, thanks to which universities will provide educational services more efficiently. The deputy minister emphasized that the use of the specified services by educational institutions will take place at their own request.
