On April 27, 2016, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Education and Science, Lilia Hrynyvych, an interdepartmental meeting was held on the issues of conducting an admissions campaign for graduates from the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions not under the control of the Ukrainian authorities and the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs, the Ministry of Information Policy, and the NGO "Open Policy Foundation".
The participants of the meeting considered the issues of organizing the crossing of the demarcation line of the ATO zone, obtaining education documents, the specifics of conducting an introductory campaign for children who live in the territory of the Donbass, occupied Crimea, which is not under the control of the Ukrainian authorities. Additional opportunities for access to higher education for residents of Donbass and Crimea were also discussed.
Based on the results of the meeting, regulatory and legal documents will be revised in order to ensure the right to education for citizens living in temporarily occupied and uncontrolled territories.
