The team of students of Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin became the winner in the 7th International Student Physicist Tournament, which was held from April 7 to 10, 2015 at the University of Warsaw (Republic of Poland).
The tournament brought together eleven teams from universities around the world that passed the national selection. Young students represented the famous universities of the world: Ukraine, France, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Russian Federation, Singapore, Great Britain, the Kingdom of Sweden, Poland, the Swiss Confederation. This year, young physicists from the People's Republic of China and Iran also joined the international festival.
During two days of qualifying matches, the Ukrainian team won all 8 meetings with students from other countries and reached the finals with the best result.
The Ukrainian team included students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazin:
- Vitaly Lisovskyi - captain - 5th-year student of the Department of Nuclear and Medical Physics;
- Anastasia Vasylchenkova - 5th-year student of the Department of Theoretical Nuclear Physics and Higher Mathematics named after A.I. Ahiezer;
– Roman Vydro – 2nd year student,
– Kyrylo Gerashchenko – 1st year student,
- Platon Dmitriev - 2nd year student,
- Borys Petrov - 2nd year student.
The final battles took place on April 10. According to the results of the competition, the Ukrainian team took the highest step of the podium, having scored 49.1 points. The Danish team was in second place with a score of 48 points, and the French team was in third place.
