This year, 9th grade students will not take the state final certification based on VET technology - explanation of the Ministry of Education and Culture
In 2019, only 11th grade students, as well as students of institutions of higher education (colleges and technical schools) and vocational education, who will complete their full general secondary education, will take the final state certification based on the VET technology in 2019.
9th grade students, as in previous years, will take the DPA in written form (NOT in the form of the external examination).
The relevant clarification is provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture today, January 10, 2019, in connection with numerous appeals from students and their parents regarding the passing of the state final certification in the form of external examination in the 9th grade.
As previously reported by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Liliya Hrynevych, the launch of the external examination in the 9th grade is planned before the start of the senior specialized school of the National Academy of Sciences. According to the current reform calendar, this is approximately after the 2026-2027 school year.
With regard to 11th grade graduates, the results of the external examination will be counted as grades for the DPA in the following subjects:
– Ukrainian language and literature (part of the Ukrainian language) (required);
– mathematics or history of Ukraine (the period of the 20th - the beginning of the 21st century) (at the choice of the graduate);
- one of the subjects for which the external examination is conducted (at the choice of the graduate).
For students who choose a foreign language, the result of the external examination will be credited depending on the level at which they studied the language.
Students of institutions of higher and professional education will take the DPA in the form of an external examination in only two subjects: the Ukrainian language and a choice of mathematics or the history of Ukraine.
