The new educational program will allow thousands of Ukrainians to acquire the skills they need and reduce the shortage of competent specialists.
Brain Academy, an educational initiative supported by the BrainBasket Foundation and Cisco, will start working in Ukraine in March. By the end of the year, 20 Brain Academy offices will be opened on the basis of universities and training sites.
Certified instructors and IT specialists of elementary and professional levels will be trained there. Among the specialties that can be obtained at Brain Academy are software developer, software tester, business analyst, and project manager.
"If an educational institution wants to train professionals, for example in the field of Java programming, then we will train a teacher, provide educational materials on an online platform and provide support during the entire learning process. Also, together with Cisco, specialist training will be organized on the basis of Cisco academies. Given that the Cisco Network Academy program has proven itself well - over a hundred Cisco academies on the basis of universities are successfully operating in Ukraine - we will be able to quickly fill the market with professionals," said Brain Academy Director Ihor Zartuvati.
According to him, the recruitment of students will begin next month, and by the end of the year it is planned to graduate the first thousand specialists. Next year, Brain Academy intends to increase the number of graduates by an order of magnitude.
Cisco believes that new educational opportunities will allow to saturate the Ukrainian market with high-quality personnel in a short period of time. "How to help initiatives like Brain Academy? I am sure that the active involvement of the ministries of education and social policy will help speed up the processes. The IT industry can become a stimulus for the growth of the Ukrainian economy and bring billions of dollars to the state treasury, but only if the market demand for IT specialists is met. According to forecasts, up to five million new jobs will be created in the IT sphere in Western countries in the coming years, and if we do not start massively teaching our citizens information technology, English language and communication skills today, then Ukraine will be left behind". emphasized Valery Fishchuk, regional manager of interaction with the public sector of Ukraine at the Cisco representative office.
