The Global Teacher Prize is the "Nobel Prize" for teachers, launched by the Arab billionaire Sunny Varki in 2014. The award is presented for outstanding contributions to the teaching profession and is worth $1,000,000. The national award in Ukraine was initiated by the public union "Osvitoria" in 2017, the purpose of which is not only to popularize innovative approaches in education, but also to increase the prestige of the teacher.
