Requirements for the state final certification in 2018

The relevant ministry approved the approximate requirements for the content of certification tasks for the state final certification in institutions of general secondary education in the 2017-2018 academic year. The document defines the content and features of conducting school exams this academic year.

The Ministry of Education notes that in 2018, the deadlines for the DPA in primary and basic schools will be determined by school pedagogical councils, and 11th-grade students will take final exams in the form of external independent evaluation.

It is assumed that the final attestation of primary education recipients will be carried out for the purpose of internal monitoring of the quality of education in the form of final control papers in two subjects: Ukrainian language and mathematics.

Final test papers will be completed by primary school teachers using uniform tasks for all parallel classes in accordance with the approximate requirements for the content of certification tasks. Attestation materials, which contain final test papers on the Ukrainian language and mathematics in two versions, must be approved by the Pedagogical Council.

Tests will be conducted in the second or third lesson, except Monday and Friday, as well as days before and after holidays.

State final certification of basic secondary education students will be carried out in written form in three subjects: Ukrainian language, mathematics and a subject chosen by the pedagogical council.

Tasks for conducting exams will be compiled by school teachers. The recommendations of the Ministry of Education contain approximate requirements for the content of attestation papers for 9th grade students, which teachers must follow when setting the tasks of control papers.

The results of the exams will not be taken into account when setting the annual grades for the subjects from which the DPA was conducted.

The state final certification of those who have completed general secondary education will be conducted in the form of an external examination in three subjects: Ukrainian language, mathematics or history of Ukraine (the period of the 20th - beginning of the 21st century) and a subject of the student's choice.

The main testing session will begin on May 22 and continue until June 13. Those graduates who, due to objective reasons, will not be able to take part in the main session, will be able to take the exams during the additional testing session.
