As part of preparation for the new academic year, there are many city-wide programs in Kyiv aimed not only at the repair of premises or equipment, but also at improving the educational process and the daily life of institutions. This was emphasized by the director of the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports Olena Fidanyan during a meeting on the preparation of educational institutions of the capital before the beginning of the 2017-2018 academic year.

"Our joint task is to prepare the educational institutions of the capital in time for the new school year. That is why today we primarily focused on those city programs that must be completed before the start of the educational process," she said.

According to Olena Fidanyan, we are talking about the purchase of furniture, computer equipment, replacement of windows, restoration of groups in kindergartens and preparation of institutions for the heating season.

"According to the results of the audits and monitoring of the use of funds, we already have a clear idea of which of these projects require more attention. Nevertheless, work continues in all districts of the city so that children and educators can start the educational process on time and in comfortable conditions," added Olena Fidanyan.

In addition to the current state of preparation of the city and certain districts for the new academic year, the meeting discussed the progress of construction and reconstruction of schools and kindergartens, the registration of land use in educational institutions of the city, as well as the implementation of city programs.

We will remind you that this year the Kyiv city government has allocated almost UAH 2 billion, which is a fifth of the entire budget of the industry, for the preparation of educational institutions for the new academic year 2017-2018 and the autumn-winter period.
