Sanitary standards for the use of computer equipment in Ukraine are outdated and do not take into account the changes in technical characteristics that have occurred recently. This was stated by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Liliya Hrynevych, during a meeting with the educators of Odesa Gymnasium No. 2.
"Now we in the Ministry, together with the Ministry of Health, are working on changing sanitary standards for the use of computer equipment in Ukraine. They are outdated, most of the characteristics of the equipment that determined such rules have changed. The current sanitary regulations do not contribute to educational progress or the health of students - schoolchildren simply understand their absurdity and, in particular, therefore do not follow any rules in using technology at all," Liliya Hrynevych explained.
She emphasized that the use of gadgets and various educational applications in schools is also limited by these sanpins. "As well as the printing of qualitatively new textbooks, where we have different, but similar in spirit and age, requirements," added the Minister.
The meeting also discussed the inequality of damage that can be caused by a particular gadget. In particular, it was emphasized that the phone should not be the main carrier of educational information - too small a font can harm eyesight.
