In connection with the spread of information about the incident with an improvised explosive device that occurred on March 9, 2016 in the premises of the Institute of Arts and the Pedagogical Institute of the University, the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University clarifies that the issue of safety of students and employees is one of the priorities.

The incident is currently being investigated by law enforcement agencies. We remind you that on March 9, on the mezzanine stairs in the premises of the university on the street Davydova, 18, an unidentified person set fire to a primitive, low-power homemade explosive device. At the same time, people and the building were not damaged.

As for the journalists of the ICTV channel. Unfortunately, the members of the film crew did not provide the university representative with press credentials, which made it impossible for them to enter the premises where the search operation was ongoing. We believe that the plot of the "Extraordinary News" program is tendentious and such that it incites panic in a war-torn society. This is evidenced by the program host's interpretation of a primitive device made of a match component as a "bomb", which provoked a significant response.

Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, counting on the prompt investigation of the incident by law enforcement agencies, is taking additional measures to strengthen the security regime, in particular, the identification of persons who intend to visit the premises of the university.
