The 2015 admissions campaign began on July 10. The day before, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Inna Sovsun took part in the work of the round table "Features of the admission campaign 2015", which was held at the Ukrainian Crisis Center.
During the round table, Inna Sovsun reported that, compared to last year, the state order was reduced by 10-12%. In particular, the number of places at the bachelor's degree this year was reduced by 106,000. According to the first deputy minister, the reduction in state orders was due to a decrease of 23% in the number of school graduates. In addition, the number of graduates of Ukrainian schools did not include graduates of schools of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Inna Sosun also explained in detail the specifics of the competition score calculation. She noted that the applicant's competitive score will be formed from the sum of the scores of the results of external independent evaluation certificates and the average score of the certificate, multiplied by weighting factors, the sum of which will be equal to one. The weighting coefficients are indicators of which of the components of the overall competitive score is the most important for admission to a specific higher educational institution.
