In the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, a meeting was held between the director of the department of general secondary and preschool education, Yuriy Kononenko, and the head of educational programs at UNICEF, Natalia Kiyak.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues of cooperation in the field of preschool and general secondary education.

According to Natalia Kiyak, UNICEF has already launched a number of new projects that will contribute to the expansion of aid programs for displaced persons and the restoration of the socio-economic condition of the regions affected by the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Note that the total amount of the project is 3.7 million US dollars. First of all, it is planned to use these funds to repair 35 schools in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as provide 30,000 children with school supplies. Furniture and equipment will be purchased for 50 schools from the conflict zone. This financial assistance was provided by the Japanese government.

"Today, UNICEF Ukraine organizes the provision of psychosocial assistance to children affected by the conflict in Ukraine. Currently, 80 specialists are being trained, who will be able to help more than 1,200 children cope with possible psychological injuries," noted Nataliya Kyyak. Already 400 school psychologists work with children in eastern Ukraine.

Also, at the meeting, it was mentioned about the cooperation between UNICEF and the LEGO Foundation, which in turn help children from Donetsk and Luhansk regions by providing LEGO sets.
