Today, May 8, the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation is celebrated for the first time in Ukraine. The beginning of a new tradition is the celebration of May 8 and 9 in the European spirit of memory and reconciliation under the slogan "1939-1945. We remember. We are winning."

Also, on May 9 Ukraine will celebrate Victory Day and the 70th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in Europe. The country's government approved another date - September 2. On this day, the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War will be celebrated.

Dear soldiers, veterans of the Second World War. These days, I would like to wish you health and harmony, may happiness always be in your homes. Together with you, we bow our heads in sorrow on the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation! Your invaluable heroism will never be forgotten.
