Currently, the committee is actively discussing the topic of reviving Ukrainian paper production and developing proposals that should encourage local communities to provide premises for the sale of books at a discounted rental price.

In 2015, as reported by the State Television and Radio Committee, measures will be taken to create favorable conditions for the development of domestic book publishing, popularization of domestic publishing products and reading. The corresponding decision was made by the Board of the State Television and Radio Committee.

"Last year, the efforts of Derzhkomteleradio were aimed at continuing to preserve for publishers and distributors of printed products the few benefits recorded in the current legislation. As a result, changes were made to the Tax Code of Ukraine, thanks to which the state left VAT benefits to publishers of printed periodicals and book products," said the Chairman of the State Committee of Television and Radio Oleg Nalivayko.

However, maintaining benefits does not solve all problems. According to the head of the department, it is necessary to increase the number of sales, to create new networks for the distribution of book products. Derzhkomteleradio is developing proposals that would encourage local communities to provide premises for the sale of books at a discounted rental price.

In addition, there was a serious problem with paper. Domestic plants actually don't produce it anymore. "Paper has become a strategic resource today. Most of it comes from Russia, less from Poland, Finland and China. Therefore, it is necessary to take effective steps to diversify the supply of paper to Ukraine. It is also necessary to think about the restoration of Ukrainian paper production now," Oleg Nalivayko believes.
