As a result of the activities of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of the Verkhovna Rada on Science and Education during the first session of the 8th convocation, the following decisions were made:
– renewal of salaries, pensions, and other social payments to the population of certain districts of the Donetsk region, due to changes in the administrative and territorial structure;
- restoration of the payment of VRU named scholarships for the most talented young scientists;
- awarding of the VRU prize to teaching staff of general education, vocational and technical, pre-school and out-of-school educational institutions.
Also, several amendments were made to the Tax and Budget Codes, namely:
- the remaining state funding of higher education institutions of I-II levels of accreditation;
- additional payments and allowances for teaching and research-pedagogical workers, in particular for scientific degrees and scientific titles, have been preserved in the legislation;
– scientific institutions were able to keep their own income from the main activity, grants and charitable contributions in current accounts in state bank institutions;
– remaining tax benefits for educational institutions and religious organizations;
– extracurricular educational institutions of the national level will be financed from the central budget in the future;
– the system of methodical offices remained.
Funding for science in the State Budget for 2015 also remained unchanged and was increased compared to the government project.
