At the meeting, the participants learned from the director of the department of general secondary and preschool education of the Ministry of Education and Science, Yury Kononenko, about the activities of the Ministry. According to him, the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Culture has taken significant steps to stop teachers' paperwork and canceled a number of regulations that reduced the reporting of local education management bodies by approximately 1.5 thousand indicators.

He also noted that the new draft law "On Education" foresees significant changes in the interaction of education departments of local authorities with educational institutions, which will reduce their influence and pressure on institutions. That is, education administrations must perform a service function that includes a single component, namely the creation of conditions for the work of educational institutions. At the present time, in addition to the specified function, they also perform a controlling function.

Regarding the proposed restrictions and increase in workload, the Ministry of Education and Culture has its own position, namely, not agreeing to an increase in the pedagogical workload for teachers, an increase in the number of classes, cancellation of free compulsory general secondary education, etc.

It should be noted that as a result of the meeting of the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Kvit with representatives of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine, the parties agreed to coordinate further joint actions in solving tasks related to the observance of the constitutional rights and guarantees of educators.

Also, meetings were organized with representatives of the department of general secondary education and preschool education of the Ministry, together with the department of vocational and technical education, two field meetings were held in Vinnytsia and Lviv.

During the meeting, the Civic Council supported the decision to grant wider powers to the Board and the Chairman of the Civic Council to resolve urgent issues and make appropriate changes to the Regulations and Regulations of the council.

So, during the meeting, both parties formulated and approved the work plan of the Public Council under the Ministry of Education and Culture for 2015, based on which the tentative plan of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for holding consultations with the public in 2015 was adopted.

Also, the People's Council approved a decision to prepare a letter to the country's leadership, due to the threat of the destruction of the education system in connection with the possible limitation of the funding of the industry in 2015 and the defense of the rights of educators. Some of its members were excluded from the Public Council under the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine, who were absent from two meetings without valid reasons.

In March 2015, the next meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Education and Culture will take place.
