As reported by the Ministry of Education and Science in letter No. 1/9-616 dated November 28, 2014 53 higher educational institutions by the end of the 2014/2015 academic year, it is necessary to decide on the expediency of their further functioning, or the possible joining of efforts with other educational institutions.
Due to non-compliance with the licensing conditions of these universities, the Accreditation Commission of Ukraine will be forced to consider the expediency of their activities by May 2015.
Rigorous inspection of universities is stipulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education", which in turn should serve as a guarantor of the integration of educational institutions of Ukraine into the European educational space.
According to the accreditation process, it can be determined that not all universities will be able to maintain a high standard of evaluation of educational activity.
As you know, at the moment, 803 higher educational institutions of all accreditation levels and forms of ownership operate in the educational space of Ukraine, including 325 higher educational institutions of III-IV accreditation levels and 478 of I-II accreditation levels. 215 educational institutions of III-IV levels of accreditation and 200 educational institutions of I-II levels of accreditation belong to the state form of ownership; privately owned - 96 educational institutions of III-IV accreditation levels and 71 - I-II accreditation levels.
