As the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, noted at a working meeting with the heads of higher education institutions regarding the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education", all payments in the field of education were made within the specified terms.
"Despite the fact that there is a war in our country, that the economy went into a tailspin due to the war unleashed by Vladimir Putin, on September 1 we paid all the debts due to local budgets and the state budget for education," said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
A key task was defined, which the Ministry of Education and Science should solve together with the Ministry of Social Policy, namely, linking education to the labor market: "This is something that we have not solved for 20 years. Our education is based not on expediency, but on popularity. Lawyers have been the most popular profession for ten years. Another ten years - only economists."
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized that in this matter it is necessary to focus on the goals set by the state: "The first goal for us is to become one of the world leaders in the food market, which is agro-industrial complex, strong managers. The second goal is energy. Economists, lawyers, and, of course, energy experts are needed there."
Also, the Head of Government emphasized that the total budget for education is 100 billion hryvnias, of which 16 billion is provided by the central budget directly on state order, and another 10 billion hryvnias are received by universities from a special fund.
