During the meeting of the Governmental Committee on Humanitarian Development, a number of issues were considered, among which were the topics of the development of young scientists, as well as the appointment of grants from the President of Ukraine for the implementation of scientific research for 2014.
As the Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Sych noted, Ukraine needs the active involvement of scientists in considering and researching the problems of public administration reform, the formation of a balanced ethno-national policy, as well as the integration of the eastern regions into Ukrainian society.
Also, the Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine noted that in the process of selecting candidates for providing state grants, it is important to be guided by the urgent needs of the humanitarian sphere and to follow the appropriate procedure.
After the meeting, the Vice-Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Education next year to ensure that Ukrainian scientists are able to receive grants for scientific research no later than the beginning of 2015.
There were issues, decisions on which were postponed for their more detailed consideration, namely the appointment of two-year and lifetime state scholarships to outstanding scientists.
