The Cabinet of Ministers approved the decision initiated by the Ministry of Health to extend the quarantine until October 1, 2021.
The corresponding decision was made during the government meeting.
According to the Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko, there are no prerequisites for changing the level of epidemic danger in Ukraine. At the same time, vaccination is an effective protection against coronavirus.
"The number of new cases of disease has been increasing in recent weeks, but there are no prerequisites for changing the level of epidemic safety yet. I call on everyone to get vaccinated and protect themselves from possible severe consequences of the coronavirus," said the Minister of Health.
Viktor Lyashko also announced that to counter the spread of the coronavirus, in particular its "Delta" strain, the Cabinet of Ministers has strengthened the rules for crossing the border. But only vaccination is the only effective way to prevent severe illness or death.
According to the Ministry of Health, all vaccines against COVID-19 used in Ukraine are approved by WHO for emergency use. They are safe and effective.
Vaccination against COVID-19 in Ukraine is carried out by mobile immunization teams, vaccination centers and mass vaccination centers.
