The Department of Education and Science of the KMDA publicly reported on the implementation of the City Target Program "Education of Kyiv. 2016-2018".

"The Program's budget increased by UAH 10.4 billion over three years. The result was that today every second student receives free meals, video surveillance cameras have been installed in all educational institutions, windows have been replaced in every second educational institution, every third roof, every fifth facade, and every sixth food block have been repaired," said the director of the Department Olena Fidanyan.

She added that in every fifth school, the sports block was repaired: halls, changing rooms, common areas, and sports equipment was replaced.

"For three years, the consumption budget has been restored. During this time, almost UAH 275 million was allocated to household items for educational institutions. These funds made it possible to replace bed linen, dishes and toys, to purchase detergents, household goods and office supplies from educational institutions, which saved parents' money, which they already pay for the maintenance of education from their taxes," said Olena Fidanyan.

She added that for the implementation of the Concept of the New Ukrainian School, didactic materials for the first grades, single-seat transformers, furniture for storing didactic material, screens, flipcharts, rugs and upholstered furniture for design of recreation areas and group work were purchased in all districts of Kyiv. students; the teacher's workplaces are equipped with new modern desks, laptops with a speaker system, multifunctional devices and projectors.
