A fixed list of competitive subjects, an external examination for a master's degree in "Law" and "International Law", 7 applications for the budget and 150 points for medical specialties - these and other innovations await the entrants of 2018. They are provided by the Conditions of admission to higher education institutions in 2018, which have already been registered with the Ministry of Justice.
In particular, next year, two competitive subjects will be fixed for admission after the 11th grade to a bachelor's or master's degree in medical, pharmaceutical or veterinary fields. The third entrant will be able to choose from two alternative options.
This document also contains a list of specialties for which, instead of creative competitions, creative tests will be held - a new form of entrance test. This will be the stage of pre-competition selection, during which entrants will have the opportunity to confirm their creative abilities in advance. According to its results, they will be able to take part in the competition based on the external examination. Higher education institutions can conduct creative tests from February 1, 2018 until July 26.
In addition to the results of the 2018 ZNO, entrants will also be able to use the results of 2017 and 2016 in all subjects except foreign languages. This is due to the change in the format of foreign language testing in 2018. In particular, the tests in English, Spanish, German and French will include listening and will have 2 levels of difficulty - academic and professional.
Another change is the number of applications that the entrant of 2018 will be able to submit for state and regional order places. The number of applications has been reduced from 9 to 7, and it will be possible to submit them for no more than 4 specialties (as this year). Submission of applications for the contract is not limited.
For admission to certain medical specialties, a minimum number of points in biology, chemistry or mathematics has been established. It will amount to 150 points and will apply to the specialties "Dentistry", "Medicine", "Pediatrics".
In the Conditions of admission for 2018, this year's coefficients remained - regional, rural, industry, but their values were slightly changed. Thus, the regional coefficient for universities in Kyiv will be 1, for universities in Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv regions, displaced higher education institutions - 1.04, and in other cases - 1.02.
The rural coefficient has been increased for entrants to agricultural specialties - for them it will be 1.05. For other specialties, SC will be equal to 1.02. Entrants who have been registered in the villages for at least two years prior to the date of submission of applications for admission and who have completed general secondary education in educational institutions located on the territory of the villages in the year of admission will be able to use it.
The industry coefficient will be 1.02 and, unlike in 2017, will also apply to second priority applications.
Registration of electronic offices of entrants based on complete general secondary education will be opened on July 2 and will last until July 25. Applications and documents will be accepted on July 12. Those who will enter universities based on an interview, entrance exams or creative competitions will be able to submit applications until July 20. For the same applicants, who will enter only on the basis of the external examination certificates, the submission of applications will be open until July 26.
Entrants will be able to find out who made it to the budget on August 1 - on this day they will publish a ranking list indicating those recommended for enrollment. Enrollment for state and regional places by order will take place on August 7, and for the funds of individuals or legal entities - no later than September 30.
As for admission to the master's degree, in 2018 the mandatory single professional entrance test will be taken by students not only for the "Law" specialty, but also for "International Law" using the technology of the external examination. There will also be an experiment for admission based on the results of the single entrance exam in foreign languages using the VET technology to the specialties of the fields of knowledge: "Humanities" (except specialty 035 "Philology"), "Social and behavioral sciences", "Journalism", "Service sphere" and "International relations".
Previously, the Ministry of Justice had already registered the Admission Conditions for obtaining the educational qualification level of junior specialist in 2018.
