"We have significantly increased funding for the education and upbringing of our children. These are funds for schools and kindergartens, new sports fields and school stadiums, and allowances for teachers." This was stated by Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko during a meeting of the Regional Development Council chaired by the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko.
"Understanding that it is necessary to invest in the future, and how important it is for the strength and success of the country, we have significantly increased funding for the education and upbringing of our children. These are funds for schools and kindergartens, and new sports fields and school stadiums, and allowances for teachers, and much more," noted Vitaliy Klitschko.
The mayor noted that Kyiv today is the only city where the number of children and the demand for places in schools and kindergartens is increasing. In addition, many children of immigrants from the East of Ukraine went to schools and kindergartens in the capital.
He said that the capital authorities have significantly shortened the queue at kindergartens - almost three times. But there is still work to do.
"If last year we opened 7 new and reconstructed kindergartens in the capital, then this year we will open 10. In Kyiv, 2 new schools opened their doors in September, and we will put another one into operation by the end of this year. Three new schools for more than 1,700 students! This is the best indicator for the last 12 years in the capital and currently the best in Ukraine," the mayor of Kyiv emphasized.
