Entrants aged 18-19, as well as applicants of a different age who intend to continue their studies at the next level of education, will receive a postponement from the spring draft.
This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Education and Science with reference to the decision of the Office of the President and the General Staff.
In particular, the Ministry of Education notes that in connection with the quarantine, Cabinet of Ministers Order No. 179-r dated February 26, 2020 determined that citizens aged 18-19 can be called up for service only at their own request, which is confirmed by a written application.
As for graduates of colleges and universities, the state has worked out solutions that will allow them, if they wish to continue their studies at the next level of education, to receive a deferment from the spring draft.
The Ministry of Education and Science has already provided relevant clarifications to the admissions committees of institutions of professional pre-higher and higher education regarding the preliminary registration of entrants who plan to continue their studies, but are subject to conscription. Pre-registration will allow such entrants to receive documentary confirmation of their intentions and, on the basis of a certificate, to receive a postponement until October 1, 2020.
